Allyson Henning joined the 8 On Your Side team in April 2020.

She will be working as a bureau reporter in the southernmost part of our viewing area covering Sarasota and Manatee counties.

Allyson is no stranger to the Suncoast; she started her career in journalism at WSNN in Sarasota where she was a reporter and anchor. Most recently, Allyson worked as a reporter in Northeast Florida at WJXT in Jacksonville where she spent nearly three years chasing breaking news and sharing stories at all hours of the day.

Florida is home to Allyson. She was born and raised in Pinellas County and studied broadcast journalism at the University of Central Florida .  She is ecstatic to be back in Tampa Bay and close to family and friends.

In her spare time, you’ll find Allyson at one of our beautiful area beaches, playing 18 holes, or checking out new ‘foodie-friendly’ spots with her husband.
